Nokia Video Trimmer now available for high-end Lumia devices running GDR2

Nokia Video Trimmer, a Lumia exclusive app that allow you to "top and tail" a video to a user defined length, is now available for all high specification Lumia devices running Windows Phone 8 GDR2 (e.g. Nokia Lumia 925). It is the first of a number of video related apps (Nokia Pro Camera, Nokia Video Upload) that are expected to be made more widely available having first been showcased on the Lumia 1020.

Given the GDR2 requirement the app is still not be available to most potentially compatible devices (e.g. Lumia 920), but, like call and SMS blocking, it is an extra feature point that these devices will gain when the GDR2 (10328) over the air updates does start rolling out.

Nokia Video Trimmer is able to edit any user captured video that is visible in the Photos+Videos hub (i.e. captured with the standard camera app). When you open the app you are presented with a list of recently recorded videos. Tapping on the video will open the trimming editor, with a scrubber control making it easy to set the start and end point of the video. Videos saved in the Video Trimmer app are stored new videos to the Photos+Videos hub (i.e. does not over write source file).

Simply drag the slider to the start and end points then use the step controls to adjust the selection to the second. When you're done, save the video to your phone or upload and share it over WiFi or a mobile data connection, but be sure to check your network operator’s data charges first.
