Offering a wealth of live data during the race, as well as all the sessions where the track is open (the free practice sessions and Saturday qualifying). There's also track guides and relevant information on the circuit over each race weekend. Add all of that together and you have a far more immersive F1 experience than just watching the action passively on the TV.
Here are the main features of the app, from the directory listing:
- Tyre information
- DRS Zones
- Real Time track positioning
- Live timing data
- Live leaderboards
- Pause live sessions
- Download race packs
- Follow your favourite F1 driver
- Marshall news and race control messages
- Live text commentary
- Event counter
- Corner views
There's only one issue I have with the app. The price.
At $26.99 / £19.99, it's a big risk for anyone to download this. There's no trial version, so you have no way of being sure that it works, there's no lag, or it suits your way of watching F1. Quite simply the Timing 13 CP app has priced itself out of my contention, and I think out of the consideration of many people. At £1.99 it would get far more income from far more users than it will at £19.99.
And F1 fans are smart enough to know this data is available for free in their web browsers from formula1.com.
Still, some of you might be interested, so here's the App Directory link.
