Earlier this month JUICIES+ commenced a Kickstarter campaign that aims to deliver a high quality USB charging cable. Such cables are routinely included in phone boxes, but the quality of these cables varies greatly. All Windows Phone devices can use a USB cable with a microUSB connector for charging and for connecting to a PC for media transfer.

The proposed JUICIES+ cable is made from recycled aerospace grade aluminium (connectors) and a flexible woven cable, which not only ensures it remains tangle free, but also means it is stronger, lighter, and more durable than a standard cable. The cable is rated for 4+ Amps, so regardless of the charging source (wall socket, computer, car), it allows your device to be charged in the fastest possible time.

A simple cable is still is the best and easiest way to charge a device. So we used high quality materials to build a cable that matches our high-end devices. Our focus was on the core essence of what the product is supposed to be doing: Charging! Since we have to charge our phones every day, we really wanted to make sure that our cable gets the same nice look and feel. So we designed a cable that matches perfectly!

We were always fond of old world craftsmanship. It was important to us that our final product does not only look good, but also feels good from the first moment you touch it. We settled on a combination of recycled aerospace grade aluminum and flexible woven cables. It's awesome!

JUICIES+ already have a successful track record, with a Kickstarter campaign for colourful iPhone cables already completed. The duo behind JUICIES+ say they will be applying the lessons learned last time round to ensure that they stick as closely as possible to the proposed schedule for the new campaign, which aims to deliver product to backers early next year. 

The current campaign is already fully funded (4,331 backers pledging $149,099 of $40,000 goal), but the project is open for backers until the end of October. Currently available pledges range from $18 (one cable) to $65 (pack of four cables). Delivery is included for US consumers, but those overseas will need to add an additional $5 to any pledge.

Those prices are expensive for a USB cable, but not unreasonable it JUICIES+ can deliver on their promise of quality. Having an extra charging cable around makes a lot of sense too, as it's probably the most commonly lost smartphone accessory.
