Advertised as part of a series, there are two videos up so far, each comparing the Nokia Lumia 1020, the HTC one, the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Sony Xperia Z1. It's slightly odd not to see the Apple iPhone 5S in the mix too, but perhaps this was slightly too new?
The videos then. Firstly, 'Capturing Action':
And secondly, 'Low light':
_______________
The margin of supriority in the latter test in particular was striking - check out the detail differences in the crops from the concert photos:
Quite astonishing. There's no real magic in what Nokia did with the Lumia 1020 (and the 808 PureView before it) - it's just that the sensor and lenses are so much bigger that physics wins out - more light, more detail, etc.
And I'd also point out that the above tests didn't even use the OIS, the PureView zoom or the Xenon flash.... Add these in and the Lumia 1020 streaks further into the distance. Apologies for sounding like rabid Nokia fanboys here, but hopefully the photo results above and in our own tests speak for themselves.
