The idea here was to mount the Lumia 1020 under a hexacopter and then go flying, showing off the OIS in the phone, which stabilises the footage. The hexacopter has its own stabilisation, to keep it level, but the phone's OIS handles smoothing out vibrations from the electric motors. Here's the set-up:
The Nokia Copter team then flew the gadget over Warsaw, Cracow and Wroclaw, giving a unique birds eye perspective. The video footage from the Lumia 1020 was then cropped and spliced into sequences from each location and packaged together with mapping information into 'Nokia Copter', free in the Windows Phone Store.
