There's an interesting video, embedded below, of an interview with Microsoft's every cheerful Joe Belfiore, talking to the BBC about the current status of Windows Phone and its ecosystem. In particular, Joe stresses that Microsoft "is doing everything we can to get every important app on Windows Phone". He also strongly defends the OS's position as a viable number three platform in the smartphone world.
Expanding on his headline comment, Joe talks about Microsoft:
providing developers to help ISVs (Independent Software Vendors)
finding contractors
funding development
providing marketing incentives
This last month has seen a lot of new application releases for Windows Phone and Joe could well be right that this is a 'breakthrough' time for the platform.
