In order to use the app you will need to registered memmber at TrueAchievements (the website on which the app is based). This lets TrueAchiever track your Xbox Live activity (GamerScore), including the last 50 games you have played and the Achievements you have unlocked in each game you have played.
TrueAchievements also aggregates the stats from its 150,000 gamers and these too can be seen in the Windows Phone app. This gives a rough indication of how popular a game is and how hard it is to earn a given achievement. The website's friend feature is also fully supported by the app making it easy to keep an eye on the progress of your friends and rivals.
Perhaps the most interesting element of the app is the ability to see you and your friends TrueAchievements score. This is a scoring system that aims to address the imbalances in the Xbox Live Gamescore system (i.e. the fact that some achievements and therefore Gamerscore points can be earned much more easily than others). TrueAchievements calculate a difficulty score for each achievement listed in its system based on how many people have achieved an achievement and how many people own the game (i.e. hard to earn achievements will earn more TrueAchievement points). The end result is a score that more propely reflects the amount of effort that goes into to earning achievements.
