Airport experiment prototypes a new game genre?

Combine ebook, number puzzle and word search together and what do you get? A new game genre, something of a mash up, but interesting, nonetheless. Airport is currently a (free) single chapter 13 page (i.e. short story) experiment, but we hadn't seen anything like it before.

From the Store description:

To play the book cipher word jumble game, use the issued key to identify encoded terms by page, paragraph and word coordinates (for example, 8:3:117). Once you have collected all encoded terms, solve the resultant word jumble and post your answer to assess your accuracy.

The crossword is a standard crossword puzzle with a twist - its clues are sentences from the attached literature and its answers are missing words from these sentences. To solve the puzzle, locate the missing terms and fill in the blanks. There is one small catch, however - the answers are SYNONYMS of the missing words! (Download the Capital Ideations LLC thesaurus to get assistance with these synonyms.)

The story runs along the lines of a weary traveler finding himself deposited in a lonely gate of an empty terminal. Think Tom Hanks in 'The Terminal' but without anyone or anything to interact with.... Here are some screens of the whole game in action:

Combining short story with word games is a novel touch, though the implementation here is a little primitive in places.
