A 2015 vote of confidence for the 2013 Lumia 1020

Forgive the link across to my own (ahem) podcast, but this week's Phones Show Chat will be of interest to Windows Phone enthusiasts in general and Lumia 1020/PureView fans in particular. Andy Hagon was my guest, an ex-pat who's ended up in 2015 back on the Lumia 1020 that we covered here mid 2013. As it happened, my SIM card is back in my own 1020 and we discussed the pros and cons (ok, mainly pros) of this classic camera-centric smartphone for the best part of an hour. Hopefully worth a download or play. Or perhaps worth of subscribing?

Lumia 1020s.....

You'll remember that we last met Andy in November, thinking he might stay with the 1020 into 2015. He subsequently moved to the 1520, for its larger screen, but in the podcast he tells the tale of how he's back on the 1020 while the 1520 is repaired. It's a fun - and brutally honest, in places - listen, so why not give it a try?

You can stream Phones Show Chat 248 here (with show notes and links) and, if you like it, you can subscribe here in iTunes or here via generic RSS in your player of choice.

For me, the 1020's value proposition is all about it being unique in terms of hardware in the 2015 smartphone world. I originally had high hopes for the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom as a possible competitor from another ecosystem, but it fell short in my tests, ultimately.
