Squadron is a classic Shoot'em Up. Your goal will be quite challenging as you will have to save the Universe from its evil enemies. Aboard your spacecraft, you will have to get rid of a large number of enemies while dodging their attacks. Will you be skilled enough to understand your enemies strategy and attack patterns?
In this "bullet hell" shooter game, you will be faced with an increasingly large number of projectiles and enemies. As the game progresses, you will earn the right to upgrade your spacecraft to bring it to full lethal capacity.
Sounds good, and it is. Screens filled with bullets and bad guys, power ups to collect, sound effects, the works. It's a classic game genre and very well done here:
One of the unique gameplay elements here is that you're moving and shooting all the time your finger is touching the screen - take your finger off and you're into.... s.l.o.w. m.o.t.i.o.n....... making it easy to collect your thoughts, switch spaceships (hence 'Squadron' - each has a different firing pattern and uses), and so on...
Squadron in action, with waves of bullets coming in from different angles, from multifarious bad guys. Note also the smart bomb, tap this to clear the current screen of everything dangerous!
You can grab this game here in the Store. It seems to be free, other than having a few pointers to other games by the developer. With multiple worlds/backgrounds, with multiple levels on each, fast loading, fast playing, sounding great, if space shooters are your thing then look no further.
