Supported Wi-fi/network printers for Windows 10 Mobile

Published by at

Windows 10 Mobile uses a driver-less model for printing wirelessly (and no, you can't yet connect up with a cable), being compatible with PCLm, PWG Raster, Open XPS and and MS XPS. In practice, this means almost 2000 printers are currently supported and WMPU found the link to the full list.

Windows 10 Mobile supports printing from Universal apps. On Windows 10 Mobile only printing over network is supported (WIFI mainly) while printing is not supported over USB... ...Over 1,900 printers are supported, with more expected by the end of the year. Drivers can not be installed by users. Now Microsoft has posted a list of printers which are supported by the OS. The list is set to be updated regularly and include printers from Brother, Canon, Fuji Xerox, Gestetner, HP, Infotec, Konica, Kyocera, Lanier, Lexmark, NEC, NRG, OKI, RICOH, Savin, Samsung, Toshiba, Xerox and Kyocera Mita.

Here's the link to the full list. Annoyingly, my Canon MG4200 series device isn't on it - so I'm locked out of trying Windows 10 Mobile's printing prowess. Ah well. Less trees chopped down, etc.

Comments welcome if your own printer is on the list - how well does it work and for what types of content?
