Following on from the confirmation of the "SMS bug" in Windows Phone discovered by WinRumours, Microsoft have tweeted back to Khaled Salameh that they know what is going on, and the coders are hard at work on a solution. When that's ready and tested, we'll likely see a roll-out in short order, either by the tried and tested "via Zune PC" method, or the available but not yet used in the wild "over the air" direct to the handsets.
