Pictures and summary information of the upcoming Huawei Ascend W1, the company's first Windows Phone powered device, have been posted on Chinese micro-blogging service Weibo by user zh_en. The handset is described as having a four-inch screen (800x480, 1.2GHz Dual-core processor with 512MB RAM, 5 megapixel camera, VGA front facing camera, a battery capacity of 2000 mAh, and as coming in a range of colours.

The device shown in the images appears to have a polycarbonate buttons with a curved (at the edges) glass screen, with the standard Windows Phone buttons (volume, lock, camera capture) around the side of the device, and the usual capacitive touch buttons at the bottom of the screen. The Ascend W1's microUSB port is offset to one side at the bottom of the device, contrasting with other Windows Phone 8 devices, which have the microUSB port in a central position. The device is relatively thin, although the round camera module and surround does stand out from the back of the device.

With these specifications the Huawei Ascend W1 is likely to be position as a mid tier device, where it will compete against the Windows Phone 8S by HTC and the Nokia Lumia 820.
