The device in the pictures is clearly different to the purported Ascend W1, with more angular lines, an off set camera, and smaller bezel. However, it is also possible that it is a design variant, or pre-production sample. It does have a passing resemblance to a number of other Huawei handsets (e.g. Ascend P1, M886).
Huawei is well known for its competitively price Android smartphone devices, and it is expected to follow a similar strategy for its Windows Phone devices. How much its presence will be felt will largely be dictated by the number and quality of device models in its Windows Phone portfolio. The picture should become clearer shortly, as Huawei is expected to officially announce its Windows Phone 8 line up at, or soon after, the official launch of the platform, which takes place on October 29th.
