Nokia's PureMotion promotional video remade in stop motion animation

Back in September of last year Nokia released a computer animated video explaining the PureMotion technology in its Nokia Lumia 920. That video was recently remade, shot-for-shot, by YouTube user lobbamobba using a stop motion animation technique, with the great pixel race re-run using a hand-drawn landscape and hundreds of little beads.

Aside from the impressive labour of love re-creation, which is also evident in lobbamobba's other creations, the video provides a useful reminder of the benefits of the PureMotion technology. In summary? PureMotion uses overdriven pixels to improve the transition time (and therefore the refresh rate) of individual pixels, thus reducing on-screen blurring, especially when there are rapid screen changes (e.g. scrolling).
