Minor bug fix updates for HERE Transit and Nokia Music apps

Published by at

Both the Nokia Music and HERE Transit apps for Windows Phone 8 have received bug fix updates in the last few days. The updates do not add any features, but are still worth installing as they improve the overall performance and stability of the apps.

The update for Nokia Music fixes a bug that prevented the playback of local tracks with missing metadata (e.g. song title or artist name), which also had a knock on impact on the shuffle functionality. HERE Transit receives an unspecified bug pix as part of the regular update schedule of the public transport routing and navigation app.

Nokia Music change log:

Bug fixes. Specifically, a bug which stopped playback of local tracks (mp3s) with missing metadata, for example tracks which do not have a Song Title or Artist Name. This could also affect the operation of the Shuffle All feature.

As we've noted previously the delivery of regular updates for Nokia's own apps is part of a deliberate policy, one that seems to be paying dividends in terms of both app quality and customer appreciation:

The move to the more frequent release cycle benefits consumers in that bug fixes and feature improvements are delivered more quickly, but it is also in keeping with Nokia's CEO, Stephen Elop, promise to move the company "at a faster clock speed".
