Stopwatch+ is a smartly implemented time-keeping app, with a simple by elegant design, and good support for the Windows Phone 8 platform features. Thanks to its support for fast resume and some intelligent programming the app is able to keep running a stopwatch even if the app is in the background or running under the lock screen. It'll also keep track of elapsed time if the devices it is running on is rebooted or switched off.

Stopwatch+'s opening pivot view is divided into two pages. The time page hold the stopwatch and it's associated controls (reset, start/stop, and lap), it also shows the last recorded lap time. Other lap times, if available, are shown on the laps page.

Stopwatch+'s setting let you specify whether you want to be prompted before clearing recorded times (defaults to no), the colour of the app's Live Tile, and whether to keep the screen on when the app is running (defaults to on - i.e. disabling the lock screen).

Stopwatch+ has been published by Aälejandro Díazs, who also created the Note+ app that we wrote about earlier this year. Both apps are described as "beautifully Modern" in reference to their close following of the Microsoft's design language and the Windows Phone style guide. Apps that do this tend to feel more like part of the platform, are popular with consumers, and, consequently, get noticeably higher review scores in the Windows Phone Store.
