EA continues to provide Nokia with a series of exclusive Xbox title for its Lumia handsets. The latest addition, presumably with the same six month exclusivity period as earlier titles, is NBA Jam a 2-on-2 arcade basketball game. There's definitely an emphasis on arcade, rather than basketball, side of things, but there's a real charm to the over the top commentary and bobble-headed players (digitized version or real NBA stars).

Those with longer memories may realise that the game is based on the popular arcade game of the same name that was developed by Midway in 1993, which means for some players there's a certain amount of 90's nostalgia on offer, such as the voice of Tim Kitzrow. Even if you missed out on NBA Jam first time round its hard not the smile at the game play, even if the graphics don't measure up to modern standards.

The game has three playing modes: play now (select a team and start playing straight away), classic campaign (win the championship), and local multiplayer (play against a friend over local WiFi). In contrast to a game like Mass Effect, also released today, NBA Jam is great for short periods of game play and may appeal to the more casual gamer.

Xbox Live features include the usual achievements, as well as leaderboards allowing you to measure your performance against other players. Some of the achievements revolve around unlocking "cheats" (easter eggs), which were a big part of the fun in the original game.
