Pulling in headlines and stories from the NBC News room for reading on your smartphone, the app improves its video output with the addition of closed caption support. When subtitles are available, you'll have the option to switch these on.
The shows available through the app are NBC's Nightly news, Dateline, Today, Meet The Press, and Rock Center.
The app continues to make good use of the Windows Phone environment with support for live tiles and posting fantastic images on your lock screen if that's your thing. Navigation feels a bit snappier as well around the various categories.
