Ideas submitted to the competition can be purely app based, but can also include an accessory component (e.g. stand for doing time lapse photography). The intention is that ideas should be implemented and/or polished at the hackathon weekend, so it is not necessary to submit a completed idea or implementation. Those submitting ideas will need to have proven development skills, such as an existing app submitted app to Windows Phone Store, and the more detail included in the initial submission the better.
Developers can use one of the Windows Phone camera or imaging APIs, or use the features found in the new Nokia Imaging SDK. What constitutes imaging will be broadly interpreted, with any app that make use of the camera in some way qualifying, although priority will be given to ideas with an innovative imaging element.
More information on the competition is available on the Nokia Developer website, where you can also submit idea for the competition, with an end-of-July deadline.
