Nokia Lumia 1520 press image leaked

What appears to be a press photo (render) for the Nokia Lumia 1520, an as yet announced Nokia smartphone, has been leaked by @evleaks on Twitter. The leaked image shows a handset similar in overall shape and styling to the Nokia Lumia 925, but with what looks like a single colour (yellow) polycarbonate shell, rather than a combination polycarbonate panel and metal frame.

On the screen of the device there are three columns of Live Tiles, which together with a leaked screenshot from the device, points toward the device having a 1080p resolution screen, support for which is expected to added in the Windows Phone 8 GDR3 software update. Also notable is the prominent placement of a Live Tile for a Storyteller, a yet to be announce app.

Earlier rumours and leaks about the Nokia Lumia 1520, which we covered in detail here, suggest that the Nokia Lumia 1520 (code name Bandit) will have a six inch screen and a 20 megapixel camera. It will also be the first device to run Windows Phone 8 GDR3.

While the leaked image and screenshot are, in our judgement, genuine they should be treated as unconfirmed until the formal launch announcement is made by Nokia, something that is expected to happen at the end of September.
