Twitter (official UWP) gets an update, brings in poll creation and extra tweet information

Updates to Twitter clients are coming thick and fast then, with the official one for Windows 10 Mobile (i.e. it's a UWP and has been for some time) getting a biggish update today. It's not actually part of the platform, but it's a bit of a must-install, even if you also play with one of the many third party clients too.

Here's the approximate changelog (in the lack of an official text!):

  • you can now create your own Twitter poll, for completion by all the people following you
  • 'Settings/Personalization' now lets you turn off or on video autoplay for inline videos, GIFs and Vines
  • more data is shown for each tweet if you tap through to the tweet's own page/conversation, i.e. time and location (if known)
  • when viewing a Twitter user's profile, you can see if they follow you

You can grab Twitter here in the Store - it's free, of course, in contrast to the likes of Aeries and Tweetium.

Here's the new version (v5.1.1.0) in action:

Creating a poll - add whatever extra choices you need (2 is the minimum, obviously!); (right) switching Autoplay in the Settings...
