T-Mobile USA will launch Nokia Lumia 521 in May

T-Mobile USA today issued a press release saying that from next month the Nokia Lumia 521 will be available on its network through a wide range of retail channels. Pricing and exact availability are to be shared at a later date, but, given a Nokia price of €139 ($182) before taxes and subsidies, is expected to be competitive.

The Lumia 521 is a T-Mobile specific variant of the Lumia 520, with support for the WCDMA 1700 (Band IV) and 1900 (Band II) frequencies. Other specifications include a 4.0 inch WVGA (800 x 480) TFT screen, 8GB of internal memory, microSD card support, a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor running at 1GHz, and a 5 megapixel camera. 

The Lumia 521 will join the Nokia Lumia 810 in T-Mobile's Nokia Windows Phone 8 line-up.

T-Mobile will partner with Nokia to bring customers the Lumia 521 – an exclusive to T-Mobile. Powered by Windows Phone 8, the Lumia 521, which will run on T-Mobile’s fast nationwide 4G network, is a perfect, everyday smartphone that will embody a range of high-end features at an affordable price.

The Nokia Lumia 521 features a super sensitive 4” touch screen, 5MP camera with auto focus and 720p HD video recording. It will also include exclusive Nokia applications such as Nokia Music, Cinemagraph, Creative Studio, Panorama, Smart Shoot and HERE Drive, Maps and Transit.

Beginning in May, the Nokia Lumia 521 will be available through Walmart, Microsoft Retail Stores and T-Mobile retail channels. Exact availability and pricing of the device will be shared at a later date.
