Nokia Lumia 928 pictured
The updated picture on the Lumia 928 teaser page shows the back of the device for the first time. The most notable feature is the presence of a Xenon flash, which has a number of advantages over the standard LED based flash used on most smartphones, including the Nokia Lumia 920. The two most important advantages are brighter and shorter illumination period, both of which give a better ability to "freeze" subjects being captured (because a shorter exposure time can be used).
The back of the device also appears to be pillowed, with a noticeable tapering off towards the edges. This should make the handset feel thinner in the hand than might otherwise be the case. There's also a microphone located to the right of the Xenon flash, two additional microphones are located on the top and bottom of the device, confirming that the Nokia Lumia 928, like the Lumia 920, has three microphones in total.
Do note that, despite the trio of microphones, video capture on the existing Lumia devices currently only records a mono audio track, albeit one of high quality. This could theoretically be changed in a software update and may be different on the Nokia Lumia 928.
Comparison video
The comparison video offers an example of Lumia 928's HAAC microphone's audio capture when recording video. It then compares the audio with that produced from the Galaxy SIII. The Galaxy SIII is last generation, but similar microphones are used in the Samsung Galaxy S4 and other leading smartphones.
The video highlights the Lumia 928's superior audio capture showing how it retains audio quality under high volume recording with no distortion. Do remember that this is a manufacturer produced video, which will, quite understandably, play up those parts of the comparison that favour their own device.
