Following on from the release of the Paper Artist, Manga Camera, Video Timmer, and App Folder apps last week, Samsung has released a further three exclusive apps for its Windows Phone 8 devices. Color Effect, Fun Shot, and Artistic Effect are camera lens apps that are all based around adding different effects of filters to photos taken with your camera phone.

Fun Shot lets you apply various morph effects (e.g. twist), while Color Effect and Artistic Effect let you apply filters (e.g. oil paint and retro). Each of the apps is relatively simple showing a live camera view, with a pull out vertical carousel allowing you to sellect which filter or effect to apply. Photos can be captured with a simple tap and are saved to the camera roll.

With 7 new apps in a fortnight Samsung has been surprisingly active in adding new apps to its Windows Phone 8 devices, showing more interest than it has in the previous six months. However, their arrival almost certainly does not signify any major strategy change on Samsung's part with regards to Windows Phone, rather the new apps are the result of activity associated with the forthcoming availability of the ATIV S Neo on Sprint in the US.

Color Effect

With Colour Effect , you can create dramatic images by changing their colours entirely.

Colour Effect includes many effects including Vintage, Old photo, Grey-scale, Sepia, Retro, Sunshine, Downlight, Blue wash, Nostalgia, Yellow glow, Faded colours, Invert, Sharpen, Soft glow and Blur.

Artistic Effect

With Artistic Effect, you can turn your photos into works of art.

Artistic Effect supports many effects including Pop art, Cartoonify, Magic pen, Oil paint, Posterise and Sketch.

Color Effect, Fun Shot, and Artistic Effect can be downloaded from the Windows Phone Store for free. They are only available for Samsung devices running Windows Phone 8 (ATIV S and variants).
