DIY recycled cover for your Lumia made from old CDs

Published by at

We've already mentioned that the back casing of the black variant of the Nokia Lumia 1520 is made from recycled CDs, but it seems that Nokia wants to push that message home. The smartphone manufacturer has published a video to YouTube showing how to make your own phone cover from cast-off CDs. The end result may not be especially refined, but it's certainly unique.

As a bonus the whole demonstration video was shot on the Lumia 1020, offering another showcase for the benefits of video captured with an OIS equipped device.

We can not, in all honesty, recommend the technique showcased in the video, unless you too are suffering through a Finnish winter and are as nutty as the presenter shown in the video.

If you really want a phone with a made from-recycled-CDs cover, we think it's going to be a lot easier to read our review of the Lumia 1520 and then decide whether you want to buy the device (remember it has to the the black one).
