Gallery: Nokia Lumia 520

In this gallery, we kick off our review coverage of the Nokia Lumia 520 by offering a visual tour of the recently announced Windows Phone 8 device. The new entry level to the Lumia line up, which is in the shops in a number of markets, has a 4.0 inch WVGA (800 x 480) LCD screen, 8GB of internal memory, microSD card support, a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor running at 1GHz, and a 5 megapixel camera.
The specifications are standard (lower spec Windows Phone 8), but what's really remarkable about the Lumia 520 is its price. Nokia quote a price of €139 before taxes and subsidies, which has translated into a PAYG cost of less than £100 in the UK market (£150 SIM free)... put another way this means you can buy four Lumia 520s for the price of one Lumia 920 (launch SIM free pricing).
Obviously there are some differences in the quality of the major components (camera, screen, materials) and there are a number of hardware omissions (no 4G, no NFC, no compass or g-sensor, no front facing camera). However, much of the core experience and performance is maintained. We'll look at this in more detail in our review, but there's no avoiding the conclusion the Lumia 520 is excellent value for money.
The devices in these pictures are of a retail version of the Nokia Lumia 520 (UK SIM-free variant).
