Windows Phone Mac Connector gets a big update

Published by at

Notified via the Mac App Store (screengrab below), the official Microsoft 'Windows Phone 7 Connector' for Mac just got itself a fairly big update, albeit with only a '0.01' bump in version number. Headline changes include Aperture support and limited drag and drop support for the Mac Finder. I had no problems with the update and am planning a walkthrough of the features available very soon here on AAWP.

Added features for v2.01:

• Full sync and import support for Apple Aperture software
• Drag and drop import of files from Browse Device (via Mac Finder)
• Ringtone transfer support (for phones running Windows Phone 7.5 or later)
• Improved video conversion process with user configuration options [though it does seem that the option to not transcode at all is now gone?]
• Support for Windows Phone Marketplace (for phones running Windows Phone 7.5 or later)
• Localisation support for 13 additional languages
• Improvements to backup and restore operations
• Improved configuration for podcast sync and photo import
• Improved iTunes import support in certain languages
• Improved metadata support for videos
