Social Mints lets you know what the social web thinks of something

Want to see what success looks like? If so, grab a copy of Social Mints. The application won Core77's Mobile App Design Challenge, an international competition which looked for tools to help people do their work on Windows Phone. Social Mint allows you to take a snapshot of the social web (Twitter, Facebook, news reports, blog posts, and blog comments) to find out "what the word on the street is".

You can save your favourite searches in the application you can pin these to your home screen with the built in live tile support - they update every 90 minutes. Social Mint's magic sauce is the formulas used to calculate the strength, sentiment, passion, and reach of the search term, so you will be trusting that these are accurate if you rely on the app, but as a tool to support your social media strategy, this is fun and visually appealing.

Let's find out how it copes with some breaking news stories. Such as Harry Redknapp.

It's a little rough at the edges, but there's a lot of promise in here, and I look foward to Social Mints maturing over the next weeks and months.
