PrimeTube does a good job of making it easy to discover new content on YouTube. By default the application open with a list of most viewed video, trending videos are a single panorama swipe away, or you can search for content by keyword or phrase. You can also use the built in subscription support to see the latest videos from channels and user you follow.
A key point in PrimeTube's favour is that it adheres to the YouTube terms of service. This means there should be no danger of the application being withdrawn (e.g. in the same way that the popular MetroTube was withdrawn). This does mean that there are some 'missing' features, the most notable of which is support for HQ video, but the developers do say that they will update the application when Google updates YouTube's APIs.
The developers say they are currently working on the next version of the application and that it will include direct video uploading, upload queue and background transfer and support for live event schedules.
