The Nokia Reaction Bluetooth Headset knows what you're doing...

Published by at

The Nokia Reaction Bluetooth Headset knows what you're doing, but in a good way. Thanks to its ear detection feature it knows when you want to answer (or transfer) a call on your headset, rather than your handset. Other features include automatic volume control, active noise cancellation (enabled by the presence of three microphones) and automatic pairing via NFC (tap to pair).

The in-ear detection is a neat solution to the "lost headset syndrome" moment that happens when your phone alerts you to an incoming call, but you realise your headset is hiding under the cat / pile of papers / sofa cushion / car seat (select as appropriate). With the Nokia Reaction you can pick up the headset, place it in your ear, and have it answer the call automatically... but if you prefer you can alternatively pick up the phone answer the call manually. In other words the headset "reacts" to what you do.

The automatic volume control, which is based on the ambient sound level "heard" through the headset's microphones, is another clever "reaction", but if you prefer there are manual touch based control too.

As with many of Nokia's recent Bluetooth accessories there's support for NFC pairing. For devices with NFC functionality all you need to do pair (connect) the Nokia Reaction with your handset is to to tap them together. Handsets without NFC functionality can still use the traditional Bluetooth pass code based pairing method (which is partially automated on Nokia devices).

The Nokia Reaction (Nokia BH-907) is part of Nokia's line up of premium Bluetooth headsets (see also Nokia Essence and BH-905). In the box you'll find a USB docking station (charging), car docking station (charging via 9V), USB cable (for charging), carry clip and lanyard. It's available now in selected markets, with wider availability expected in Q3 2012.
