The blocking vehicles are of different lengths, and, at the start of each puzzle, are placed in an interlocking pattern across the middle of the grid. The general principal of the game is to move the blocking vehicles so that they are no longer interlocked in the middle of the grid, but are arranged on either side of the exit lane.
For the easier levels, there's usually one car that's causing the problem and moving this into an empty space means other cars can be moved out the way with one or two moves. For example, in the screen shot below it is the blue car that is causing the blockage and moving this car to the left hand side of the grid will free up enough space to allow the exit lane to be cleared.
Unblock Car Free has more than 1,200 puzzles, categorised into four difficulty levels (easy, normal, hard and crazy). In general the more difficult the level the more inter-connected the moves become (i.e. you need to think more and more moves ahead). For the very hardest level there may only be one correct solution, requiring a long series of moves to be correctly ascertained.
