With a glorious weekend of sunshine ahead, The Open Championship golf tournament at Muirfield is far from the windy links course you would expect. But you can enjoy the summer weather and keep an eye on the scores with 'The Open' Windows Phone app.

Future Workshops are behind the app, which brings the mobile website into the Windows Phone app ecosystm through this launcher, although it does harness a number of Windows Phone UI features, including live tile support for the full leaderboard, the latest news bulletins, and you can pin a single player to your start screen to see just how badly they'll do around the 72 holes.

The app features:

  • Live scoring
  • Video highlights
  • Latest news
  • Weather updates
  • Championship statistics for Muirfield.
  • An interactive course guide
  • Player profiles
  • Live radio
  • Video highlights

The app also has a live radio stream available when the tournament is under way so you can listen in on the action, and video highlights so you can catch up with the action in the evening.

The app is a free download, head over to the AAWP App Directory to tee off the action.
