Rdio picks up a significant update for stability

Published by at

Music subscription service Rdio has picked up a small update on Windows Phone overnight, taking the version number to 4.0.5. The service lets you listen to music on-demand, or you can allow the discovery process to recommend music that your friends and other tastemakers are enjoying on the service.

While the initial attraction will be towards the on-demand service, Rdio's real attraction is the recommendation and the curated playlists on offer, to give a service that has the advantage of being a digital and online service, but also offers the idea of a human choice behind much of the music.

The latest version of the apps has a similar look to previous versions, but the focus on the code has been making the app much more stable on Windows Phone, and some smaller features have been added (such as sharing musical information on Facebook).

You can download the Rdio client from the AAWP App Directory, but do note that you will need to have a subscription to the service, which starts at $4.99/month.
