Beats Music streaming service now available on Windows Phone (US)

Beats Music, a streaming service from the well known audio equipment manufacturer of the same name, is now available for Windows Phone, following closely on the heels of the Android and iOS launch last week. The service, which has evolved out of Beats Electronics acquisition of MOG, combines algorithmic personalization with human expert curation for its playlist generation.

Beats Music offers access to more than 20 million music tracks on demand. Tracks can either be streamed or downloaded to your device for offline listening. Music can be accessed through the "find it" (playlists based on an artist, album, or genre), "just for you" (personalised recommendations) and "highlights" (featured music) sections.

Beats Music also includes a unique "the sentence" feature, which lets you generate a personalised playlist by describing activities, moods, and genres. It's very much in keeping with the ethos of the Beats brand, as is the general look and feel of the app itself. It's this style, together with the expert music curation ("the right music at the right time"), that provides the key differentiation for the Beats Music service, when compared to similar music streaming services.
