Apple has trailed two major new features for its flagship video editing suite on iOS (and iPad OS and Mac OS). Magic Movie is an overhaul of the basic 'cinematic' wizard that has been in iMovie for years, while Storyboards are a tutorial system in building up professional videos using predefined templates.

Rather sadly, video editing on Android and Windows are meagre affairs at best. Anecdotally, media support and video editing are the reasons I switched to Mac in the first place, circa 2010, and I haven't looked back. You may remember that I managed to film and edit an entire Phones Show on just an iPhone last year.

All good stuff. I've always come away disappointed by canned video templates, but Magic Movie in particular looks like its flexible enough for home use, at least, if not 'pro' video presentations.
