Huawei Ascend W2 shown off at GSMA's Mobile Asia Expo

Chinese language site, winp.cn, reports that Huawei is showing off its second Windows Phone 8 handset at the GSMA's Mobile Asia Expo. An on-stand specification sheet for the much rumoured Ascend W2 indicates that the device has a 4.3 inch WVGA screen, dual core 1.4GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and dimensions of 134 x 66.7 x 9.9mm. The device on display was a variant for China Mobile, with support for the TD-SCDMA 3G standard, but a global variant is also likely to be made available for other markets.

Initial rumours suggested that the Ascend W2 would be a high specification Windows Phone 8 device, but the presence of 512MB RAM indicates the Ascend W2 is a lower specification Windows Phone 8 device. That should mean it enters the market at a competitive price point, where it will face off against the Nokia Lumia 520 and HTC 8S.
