Nokia's Internship Lens aims to give college students head start (US)

Nokia, working in partnership with Internships.com, has released a variant of its JobLens for US college student who are looking for internships. The app presents internship listings leavened through location and social contexts, enabled by key Nokia technology such as HERE Maps and Live Sight. The app currently has access to listing of more than 75,000 internships, entry-level and part-time jobs from more than 40,000 companies.

Recognising that location is a key element in looking for a job, both map and augmented reality views are provided, enabling a literal "look around you" feature. Similarly, by integrating with your social graph (LinkedIn and Facebook), the app is able to provide a list of recommended positions based on your personal network and to identify those in your network who might be able to connect you to the hiring manager.

As with the original JobLens app, Internship Lens will also help you put together and store a CV and provide a step by step checklist for applying for an internship. The app also provides background information and news on your potential employer, as well as location and demographic information about potential work places.
