Review: Listen Again

icon

Listen Again is a third party app that lets you play back many of the BBC radio shows that have aired in the last seven days. It's not an official BBC app, but it gets the job done, albeit with a few quirks along the way.

Review: FIFA 13 (Xbox Live)

icon

Time for one of the heavyweight names in modern gaming to arrive on Windows Phone. Electronic Art's yearly football franchise title, FIFA 13, was released last week on Xbox Live through the usual EA/Nokia exclusive arrangement. If you're able to download it and haven't done so yet, you should, because it's really well done.

Review: Nokia Lumia 928 - Part 4 - Final Thoughts

icon

So it's a few weeks later, how am I getting on with the Nokia Lumia 928? Pretty well, I have to say. While I've already reviewed the hardware, what's not really been touched on is my emotional reaction to the phone. How do I feel about the Lumia 928?

Review: Legimi Ebook Reader

icon

I've always been a big fan of ebooks, although with Windows Phone I've not had as many options to read books as I do on other platforms. Up until now, Amazon's Kindle app has been my go to client of choice, but I think it's about to be usurped by Legimi's updated ebook reading app.

Review: Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim

icon

Majesty, or to give it its full title, "Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim", is an isometric strategy game that sees you balancing resources to build and equip your own kingdom, while exploring the surrounding area with your knights, wizards, scouts, and other 'heroes' to conduct quests, find treasure, and defeat your enemies. It's got a lot of depth, but while complex, it's never overpowering on your smartphone - which is good going for a port from a PC title.

Review: Mass Effect: Infiltrator (XBox Live)

icon

Mass Effect: Infiltrator is another first person mobile shooter for your Windows Phone, but not everyone can get this title just yet. It's another Lumia exclusive from Nokia and EA, and in a way that's a shame, because it's perfectly suited to a mobile environment.

Review: Ciel

icon

Ciel is an image editing tool on Windows Phone that many could find a use for during the summer holidays. It takes your images and captured photos, and allows you to share them with additional information about the weather and your location on a number of social networks. Think of it as a social postcard and you'll be there. [Think of it as a direct competitor to PhotoTxt Weather, too - Ed]

Review: Clever Camera

icon

Having worked my way through a number of Camera replacements for Windows Phone (what does it say about the built-in application, that so many third party replacements have been created?!), I've hit upon something of a winner. Clever Camera offers an accessible interface with a couple of genuinely unique features, let down only by slight speed and stability issues and the lack of a review function for previously taken photos. Well worth a look for anyone wanting to get genuinely creative on Windows Phone though.

Review: Nokia Lumia 928 - Part 3 - Software

icon

Continuing our look at the Nokia Lumia 928 on Verizon Wireless, it's time to turn our attention to the software. Let's assume that we're all comfortable with the Windows Phone 8 OS and built in apps such as Email, Internet Explorer, and the People Hub. How does the 928 differ from 'stock' Windows Phone 8, and is it an improvement? The answer to the latter is a qualified yes, but the former is going to take a little bit more time.

Review: Nokia Lumia 928 - Part 2 - Camera

icon

Nokia's Lumia 928 is a rare breed of smartphone from the Finnish company. You can't miss that this is the 92x handset which has a Xenon flash, and for those who put a lot of emphasis on their evening or indoor photography, that makes the Lumia 928 a very attractive handset to consider. Let's take a closer at Verizon's flagship Windows Phone 8 handset in the second part of our review.
