The Nokia Lumia 1320 is, it has to be said, pretty good value - positioned in the burgeoning 'phablet' market (i.e. doubling as phone and tablet) and with relatively few compromises, it can be found in the lower half of the price scale (£238 SIM-free and delivered in the UK, for example). When you think of the converged capabilities and software package, the 1320's main competitors in the value money stakes are, appropriately, its own predecessors.
The DT-601 Wireless Charging Plate is the most recent addition to Nokia's line-up of Qi compatible charging accessories. There are now a decent number of Qi wireless charging pads on the market, and the technology, while not exactly mainstream, does feel more established than a year ago. So, for this review, the key question is what makes the DT-601 different and who should look at buying this accessory?
The problem is this. Anyone from the older generation will know that games that tie-in to major media properties are, as a general rule, a bit rubbish. Galactic Run sounds really good when you read the colour text... "[it] will take you to depths of space, surrounded by enemies, how long will you last?" While Rebel Box's arcade shooter looks the part, once you start playing you're going to realise that the colour text is as good as it is going to get.
We've seen large portable USB chargers (e.g. the Turbocharger 7000), we've seen small all-wireless chargers (the Nokia DC-50), but the Mugenizer N11 seems to offer a feature set that's a very useful compromise. With 4800mAh capacity and both USB and Qi charging output, could the N11 really be the all-purpose mobile charger than many have been waiting for?
