Review: Marblie

icon

After a few games of Marblie, you'll begin to wonder if you've played the game before, but can't quite place it. Then you'll realise you're still playing the game and enjoying it. So even if it is an old concept, it's a great implementation.

Review: Galactic Reign (XBox Live)

icon

And we're back with the impressive XBox Live titles. Quietly arriving last week, Galactic Reign is a tactical combat game, where you have no control over the combat. Taking a higher up view, you set up your space fleets and send them off into battle. How did they got on? Well, you'll be able to sit back and watch the whole battle in a rendered video, just like your favourite space opera! And did I mention you'll be playing against your XBox Friends?

Long time publisher of travel guide books Fodor's have brought out a series of  digital versions of their guides for Windows Phone. Currently there are seven tourist destinations around the world (Austin, New York City, Paris, London, Rome, San Francisco, and Barcelona). Review: Farm Frenzy 2: Pizza Party

When I first reviewed Farm Frenzy on Windows Phone, I found that the XBox Live title was very addictive, but it seemed to be missing a little something that kept me coming back. Well, six months later, on a whim I downloaded the app again, and it hooked me. Once I had burned through the levels, I was looking for more. Review: iBomber Defense (Xbox Live)

icon

Scottish developers Cobra have built up a tower defense style game that does everything you would expect of a game in this genre, but does it with enough style and good looks that it feels a genuinely new experience. Initially released in January with some bugs and issues, the Nokia exclusive is back in the Windows Store with a bit more polish, but is it enough?

Review: Flow Cube

icon

Flow Cube is a logical puzzle game, with no timers, bonuses, or levelling up getting in the way. All you have to do is join up the coloured dots on the playing field. But unlike your common garden puzzle game, this game takes place in three dimensions...

Review: Angry Birds Seasons (Xbox Live)

icon

It's Angry Birds, on Windows Phone 8, it's the version of the game called 'Seasons' and it does everything that you would expect of an Angry Birds game. Recommended. Next- (Oi! - Rafe) Oh I need to write some more? Okay then, let's look at what makes Seasons probably the best of the Angry Birds games available.

Review: Twitter (official client)

icon

A little bit of a surprise this week, as an update was released to Twitter's Windows Phone client. It's been a long time coming, and with an update to the UI to bring it in line with the official client on other platforms, has the opportunity been taken to update the core functions of the app? Unfortunately not.
