You'll remember my unofficial way to post longer tweets in Tweetium last week? Well, this is now redundant as Tweetium UWP now supports 280 character tweets officially, in an update released just now. Notably, the official Twitter UWP client is still limited to 140 characters, so Tweetium is the way to go.

People think of our OS being dead. Not quite. We're still looking at (up to) just over two years of support in terms of monthly patches and fixes for Windows 10 Mobile. First seen at IFA back in August, the Wileyfox Pro has now surfaced, shipping in a couple of weeks, for £189 inc VAT. It's fairly low end, but Wileyfox clearly sees a security-conscious market in the enterprise world and I'll bet that price is negotiable in bulk, so think £120 each, ex-VAT, to companies?

Today sees Microsoft release a Release Candidate for Windows 10 Mobile Fall Creators Update to the Fast and Slow Insiders rings. Interestingly, the build is labelled with 'feature2_rs3svc', implying 'Feature 2 branch, Redstone 3 Service', so clearly Microsoft considers this part of the whole Redstone 3 branch and package. Not surprisingly, since there's still an awful lot that's commmon between Desktop and Mobile.
One of the nice surprises arriving from the 'Fall Creators Update' arriving in the 'Release Preview' ring was discovering that Microsoft has allowed a number of classic Lumias, including the 735, 830, 930/Icon, and 1520, to stay on the Creators Update and essentially acquiring full 'production' status, in the manner of a Lumia 650 or 950. This is notable as it will keep such handsets going and supported for much longer, until Spring 2019 at least.
Well, it didn't take a rocket scientist to see this one coming. Back when the Windows 10 Mobile-running HP Elite x3 was launched, it came with a custom virtualisation solution from HP (actually layered on top of Frame), the idea being that employees out and about could then run enterprise Win32 applications remotely on their Continuum display or HP Lap Dock. But Workspace was slow, clunky and expensive... and now no more.
A second Insiders Fast ring update in a week (overnight) has confirmed to us that the (rather confusingly-named) 'Fall Creators Update' is indeed coming to Windows 10 Mobile, and to all phones that were 'Creators Update'-provisioned.
